An anonymous person sends the news that Barstow, California based newspaper Desert Dispatch is reporting that a Gorillaz video shoot took place on Sunday (December 12th) in Calico Ghost Town, California.
The newspaper reports that a representative from HSI Productions, who refused to be named due to a confidentiality agreement, said the video has a 'Mad Max' style theme and will most likely premier on music and entertainment television stations early next year. Calico Ghost Town is a preserved mining town from the days of the Old West which is now a park and tourist attraction.
You can read the full story on the Desert Dispatch site here. Also featured on the site is a photograph from the shoot, possibly showing Pete Candeland , longtime co-director of Gorillaz video shoots (the man in the hat).

Gorillaz-Unoffcial.com gets sent stories on a daily basis from all over the world. Some are repeat information, some are bogus or cannot be substantiated, some are good enough to be featured and end up in the news. I hope our track record and reliability speaks for itself. This story comes from a source I consider reliable but not directly from someone close to the band. Officially, it should be considered rumour until further notice but it was just too exciting not to share.
Our source reports that Gorillaz have been signed to headline Coachella 2010. Coachella is a long-running music festival held each year in Indio, California. Coachella 2010 will take place from April 16-18 2010.
Our source writes:- "Gorillaz have been signed to headline Coachella 2010... Damon flew back last night from New York last night after some promotion work on PB [Plastic Beach]. But only one venue confirmed! Some problem with Lou Reed not committing to live dates. Dont know the full story on that one though. But thats not just it, its getting increasingly more expensive to put on a Gorillaz show." According to our source no other Gorillaz live dates have been officially booked at this time.

orion70 sends the news that UK band The Horrors have commented again about their work with Gorillaz, this time in an interview with BBC 6Music. You can read a summary of their comments on the BBC website here.
Bandmember Rhys said he still doesn't know 100% if the track they worked on will make the album Plastic Beach. He commented:- "I know he’s working with a lot of people and there’s a lot of stuff going on, but I think the plan is it will be on the record coming out next year. I don’t feel I should really talk about that because it’s his record, but fingers crossed it will be on that early 2010 I think. I don’t even know what the name of the track is. Faris [Badwan, member of The Horrors] wrote the lyrics and went back and worked with Damon on his own, so I haven’t actually heard the end result yet. But that was the cool thing about it. It was such a relaxed environment of people sharing ideas. That’s what was so good about it and why we asked Damon to contribute to the Whole New Way idea." (Damon helped produce the song Whole New Way for The Horrors).
The Horrors first revealed they had worked with Damon on a track back in July (see Gorillaz-Unofficial report at the time here) after Damon played one of their songs on his Radio 1 takeover in January. They have been continually asked about the collaboration since then, giving out a few more details (as here) but sometimes refusing to be drawn on the subject (as here).
